ITG Cold Air Induction System

With the help of P5, ITG (filter designers for Renault & BAR F1 teams) have designed a new cold air induction system for the M1/M2/M2.5 1800 models. The heart of the system is their carbon fibre airbox and Maxogen air filter. The carbon fibre housing features a radiused induction trumpet feeding from a large diameter primary inlet ducting arranged to collect cool external air. The trumpet design recovers air pressure from air velocity, filling a plenum volume around the large surface area of the Maxogen filter. The back to back test results were impressive, gains from 3500rpm and a peak gain of 7 rear wheel horsepower measured at 6500RPM (it might have been more if the dyno operator had let it sing until the rev limiter). Torque showed similar gains peaking at 7 rear wheel ft/lbs at 5500rpm. Custom silicon hoses, anodised aluminium cross over tube and mounting hardware complete the kit.
